She made her name as a dancer, but these days Renee 6:30 is focused on music. The aspiring artiste, who already has a number of singles on the market, told THE STAR that she has always had a knack for music, and she is happy to finally turn that passion into a profession.

"Music was something I wanted to do from I was a child. I just didn't find my courage to step out of the box and do it until now," she said. "Dancing helped me build self-confidence, and now I'm at the point where I feel ready to do this and give it my all. Plus, my best friend Sher is always telling me, 'You can do it', so I decided to just get over my fear and do it."

Renee said that since she took that leap of faith, she has absolutely no regrets, as the feedback to her entering the music space has been nothing but positive.

"It's been good so far. It's not as easy as I thought it would be, but I have to learn, and I am learning, so that's OK," she said. "I really love doing music and the fans seem to also love this side of me. I love the feedback I have been getting. Knowing they support me 100 per cent gives me all the push I need to continue this journey."

CURRENTLY IN CANADA

Renee, who is currently in Canada completing a few promotional shows, is now pushing a track called My Body. The track was released on April 23, and according to the artiste, it has been doing well so far.

"On the song, I'm expressing that I do what I want to do with my body, and I don't care what people have to say. The track has a good vibe. I'm getting a great feedback because di people them a say them love it. This song is going to be a hit for sure. Just watch and see it grow," she said.

Although she has only been wetting her feet in the industry so far, Renee 6:30 said that she is ready to go as far as the music will take her.

"I'm going to be one a biggest artiste out of Jamaica for sure. I know I have what it takes. I just need to stay focused and keep working hard. I already have the support of my fans, and that's a big deal. As long as I keep pleasing them, I can go all the way," she told THE STAR.
