Cavalier sporting director, Rudolph Speid, says all the terms for a one-year deal for Chevonne Marsh to join an El Salvadorian club has already been agreed.

However, he said the deal is being held up because of the quarantine order placed on the national team training camp, of which Marsh is currently a part of.

But according to the veteran administrator and coach, as soon as the player ends his quarantine period and can produce a negative COVID-19 test result, the rest will be history.

"He had to be quarantined because he was in the ( national) camp. So it is just that he is waiting on to clear up.

"But the transfer window is (closed in) February not January, so he has enough time ," he told STAR Sports.

"But it's just for us to finalise with the club. We have already agreed terms but we have not signed off as yet.

"He has until the 28th of this month and all he has to do is get a COVID test that is negative and he can fly down," he explained.

Fine-tuned the deal

He noted that had they fine-tuned the deal before Marsh went into camp, the player would have been in the Central American country already to tie-up his end of the deal.

"If he didn't go to camp and had to quarantine because of the positive test there (camp), he could have been there already.

"But once he finished that quarantine order and he tests negative he can travel to El Salvador. And once the club send the payment request and we sign it and send it back, the rest is automatic.

"But things were slow down because you went into camp and people at the camp tested positive. So that is why he hasn't left already," he said.

The 26-year-old Marsh, who has five caps and one goal for the national senior team, has had professional (loan) stints with County Fusion in the United Soccer League (USL) in 2015, and Kokkolan Palloveikot in the Finland first-division in 2016.
