Dynasty The King teams up with Ricky General
New York-based dancehall artiste Dynasty The King has teamed up with veteran dancehall artiste Ricky General on the track Burn It Up, which he said is a show of respect for one of his musical idols and one of dancehall's biggest names from the '90s era.
"Mi have a big respect for all a the legends back inna the day so mi say mek mi link Ricky and thing and mi know him a go say yes because he from the '90s," Dynasty The King said. He said he reached out to the Leave Earth hitmaker on social media.
"Mi link him and send him the riddim and him love it and said let's do it right away. Mi a big fan from long time," he added. Dynasty The King said that initially, he was going to voice the record alone, but later decided to add his musical idol. He said the track highlights attractive females.
"It's about a nice female who is so hot, as me say 'hotter than the sun'. It's about females who are independent and work hard and look good and she does her thing. It describes an independent pretty woman," he explained.
The dancehall artiste said he has a producer in Peru with whom he is working to do reggaeton and dancehall fusion songs.
"So mi tell him say mi think Ricky wudda be a nice collaboration and mi wanna start a trend ... and I knew Ricky wudda fit perfectly. So I sent him my part and him do him thing," he said.
Dynasty The King shared that he has plans to shoot visuals for Burn It Up this month in Jamaica as he is overdue a visit to the island.
Ricky General welcomed the collaboration as he reasoned that it is a great move to tap into the Spanish market.
